The National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) has successfully completed 25 years of its existence. Over the years, Projects Based Industrial Activity has evolved considerably with the advent of new technologies and practices. There has been a conscious effort on the part of NICMAR to adapt to these changes by introducing novel methods of learning to meet the requirements of the industry. Through what we believe is a unique programme, NICMAR has taken the initiative to cater to the long felt need of professional human resources across a wide range of sectors such as infrastructure, real estate, manufacturing industry, oil and gas exploration, telecommunication services, power, airports, ports & Highways. Our core competencies include expertise in construction management, finance management, equipment management, contract management, marketing management, human resource development, computerized project management, international business and strategic business thinking.

It is my privilege to present the class of 2010, which I strongly believe is nurtured, trained and competent to take up the challenges faced by the industry. The institute draws the best talents from across the country. The batch comprises of 190 students from the Advanced Construction Management Stream (ACM) and 67 students from the Project Engineering and Management Stream (PEM).

The Advanced Construction Management Programme (ACM) is NICMAR's Flagship Course, designed to take the best talents from the civil, mechanical and architecture streams and turn them into the industry leaders of the future as construction management professionals. The Project Engineering and Management (PEM) stream is a pioneering course offered by NICMAR to fulfil the specific need felt by the industry to have more project management professionals on a massive scale.

Our recruiters now include multi-national corporations such as Louis Berger Group Inc, Al Habtoor Engineering Co. L.L.C, Al Tayer Group, Al-Futtaim Carillion, Bechtel Corporation Ltd, Currie and Brown, ENVAC, Black & Veatch, JLL Group, BARSYL, FFE Minerals, Chiyoda Corp., Honeywell Automation and the “who's who” of the Indian Construction and Project Industry. We are also extremely happy to note a predilection amongst reputed overseas firms to recruit graduates of these programmes.

Invitation From The Dean

The successful endeavor of NICMAR in combating the problems pertaining to recruitments albeit the economic downturn is noteworthy. Although the impetus of GDP growth rate of the Country has come under some strain, the infrastructure development is still in full swing. Real Estate sector is resilient for revival considering the positive signs shown by the markets despite the after effects of the Global Economic turmoil. At such challenging times, engineering expertise with managerial skills and professional excellence in project execution is the key to success. We promise to deliver professionals who will be able to maintain equanimity during such meandering economic cycles.

I feel proud to note the feedbacks from some of you about our students, working with your organisation. The competency of the multidisciplinary engineers and architects in handling projects from concept to completion with all the prerequisite ingredients is unquestionable.

NICMAR’s Post Graduate Programmes are adeptly designed to imbibe techno-managerial skills into its students, enabling them to take complex industrial challenges. In the current dynamic environment where change is inevitable, our Post Graduate Programmes in Advanced Construction Management (PGP ACM) and in Project Engineering Management (PGP PEM) have constantly evolved to meet the diversified needs of the industry. Proactive approach, commitment to execute plans within the time frame and pursuit for perfection are some of the hallmarks etched by NICMARians in the industry.

With pride, I present to you the profile of our 22nd Batch of PGP ACM and 4th Batch of PGP PEM for your kind consideration. Our current batch of students are young, dynamic & possess the conviction, courage and commitment to leave their imprints wherever they serve.
