Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Goyal graduated in Civil Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra (earlier RECK) in year 1998 and PhD in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee in year 2007. Dr. Goyal is Gold Medalist in M.Tech. (Structures) from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.

His main area of research is High rise construction, construction management, new construction material and wind/Tornado effects on structures. He did research in Germany, Japan and Czech Republic as Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) under prestigious DAAD fellowship of Germany, MEXT Fellowship of Japan and Academy of Sciences fellowship of Czech Republic. Presently he is a collaborative researcher at Wind Engineering Research Centre, Tokyo Polytechnic University, Japan. He is also a visiting faculty of Selinus University, Italy.

Dr. Goyal is having long experience in academics, research and administration at National and International Institutes & Universities. He has travelled widely across many countries for various research and academic activities. He is having more than 50 research papers in his credit published in national and international conferences/Journals. Dr. Goyal is editor of NICMAR-Journal of construction management. Also, he is a founding member of Board of Management of NICMAR University, Pune. Presently he is serving as Professor in School of Construction, Dean-NICMAR Doctoral School and Dean of Infrastructure & Planning at NICMAR University, Pune.

Kaushalendra Jangbahadur is working as Director – People & Culture at NICMAR. He has obtained his bachelor’s degree in law from Symbiosis Law College, Pune and master’s degree in human resource management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. He has a rich industry experience of 19 years in Human Resource & Administration across diverse sectors such as IT, ITES, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare & Education with significant global exposure based at Malaysia. He has been instrumental in driving organizational advancement and change management through effective human capital strategy. His core areas of expertise range across diverse talent management, robust performance management system, policy formulation, analytics & compensation and benefits. He is also pursuing his PhD and is an active researcher focusing on the impact of performance management on organizational performance. As an active proponent of HR as a profit center, Kaushal is currently promulgating the paradigm shift of the role of HR from transactional to transformational in academia.

Mr. Ajit Gulabchand is the Chairman of the Board of Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC). He served as Chairman & Managing Director of HCC for the past four decades till 2023. During this tenure, he transformed the company from a construction major into a diversified infrastructure group of a global scale, developing and building responsible infrastructure through the next practices. With a group turnover of over Rs. 10,670 Cr (US$ 1.415 billion), HCC’s businesses span across engineering & construction and infrastructure.

Mr. Gulabchand hails from a family of nation builders who has made a significant contribution to the development of modern India. A graduate of Mumbai University, Mr. Gulabchand previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Indian Hume Pipe Co. and Managing Director of Ravalgaon Sugar Farm. He became Managing Director of HCC in 1983 and Chairman in 1994.

Under Mr. Gulabchand’s leadership, HCC continues the illustrious tradition set by his predecessors. The group has a knowledge asset of more than 1,700 officers, including around 1,100 engineers. In addition, it employs about 13,000 workers at its project sites across India. Social and Environmental Responsibility

Corporate social responsibility is intrinsic to Mr. Gulabchand’s vision for the HCC group. Its initiatives encompass Disaster Relief, Water Sustainability, Education, Health and Community Initiatives.

Disaster Relief forms a significant area of focus at HCC. Mr. Gulabchand has been the Chair of the Disaster Resource Partnership Steering Board in 2015 and 2016, started as a partnership between the World Economic Forum’s Infrastructure and Urban Development Community, Humanitarian agencies and Civil Society. He is also the founder and Chairman of Disaster Resource Network India. He has steered emergency response teams and rehabilitation to several locations struck by natural disasters. He is also a member of the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE), United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).

To address the emerging water crisis and make water sustainability a corporate priority, Mr. Gulabchand endorsed the United Nations CEO Water Mandate. Since then, HCC has demonstrated its commitment to water conservation by implementing a series of rigorous and improved water management practices at its project sites.

Global Engagements

Mr. Gulabchand holds leadership positions in several key industry bodies.

Past Alongside his responsibilities at HCC, Mr. Gulabchand has been a vocal advocate of sustainable development and is regarded as a spokesperson for India’s infrastructure sector in global forums. A regular participant at the World Economic Forum (WEF) for over two decades, Mr. Gulabchand was the first Asian to chair the Governor’s Steering Board of the Engineering & Construction Community at the WEF in Davos, 2011. He is a signatory member of Caring for Climate, United Nation’s action platform for business and a signatory member of WEF’s CEO Climate Leaders. He has also been a frequent invitee to ministerial business delegations from the Government of India to various countries aimed at attracting foreign investments into the Indian infrastructure sector.

Mr. Gulabchand is a strong supporter and patron of several technical institutions in India. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors of the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) and Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Walchand College of Engineering.

Dr. Tapash Kumar Ganguli is the Professor and Director General (in-charge) at NICMAR. Dr. Ganguli is also the Director for Executive Education. Dr. Ganguli’s areas of expertise include Project Management, Materials & Logistics Management, Contract and Project Procurement and Business Planning and Strategy. He has 20 years of industrial experience in national and international projects. He has 23 years of academic experience in teaching, training, research and consultancy. He is a Board Member of Academic Advisory Group of Project Management Institute, India. He is the recipient of PMI South Asia “Distinguish Scholar Award 2021"

Mr. Hrishikesh A. Mehendale is a Director Finance at NICMAR. A Chartered Accountant with 25 years of experience in the finance domain especially in Service sector viz.: Education / Real Estate / Infrastructure / Malls / other. He has been working in Leadership position for a decade plus and is Proficient in Accounts & Finance / Treasury / Compliance / Banking / Internal Controls. He has been working in past with organisations of repute like SPJain School of Global Management – Group CFO ( India , Australia , Singapore & Dubai) / Essel Group – PIPPL Group CFO ( India , China & Hongkong ) Raheja Group and many more.

Ms. Shalaka Gulabchand Dhawan is Management Advisor to HCC Limited with over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. Being a part of the promoter family of the HCC Group, she has endeavored to understand business deeply and also serves as Director on various Boards of HCC Group Companies.

Ms. Gulabchand Dhawan began her career with HCC in 2000, and has since been associated with various functions of the company, including Group Strategy and major initiatives. In her capacity as Vice President, Business Development since 2006 and subsequently as a Director on HCC's board in 2015, she has made significant contributions to the growth and expansion of the group. One of the key highlights of her association with HCC has been her leadership in the corporate rebranding exercise of HCC, aimed at repositioning HCC's brand image amongst its stakeholders, and elevating the HCC promise to the level of a world-class company. The new brand showcases the intrinsic qualities of the company combined with a unique blend of strong values, tradition, experience, and modern business practices.

Ms. Gulabchand Dhawan is actively involved in philanthropy in the areas of education, community development, healthcare and social responsibility through the Gulabchand Foundation and other Trusts of her family and the group. Ms. Gulabchand Dhawan is a graduate from Boston University, USA with a major in International Relations. She has interests in art, music, reading and film.

Mr. Chavan has been in the education sector for the last 25 years, and is currently serving as a board member of renowned engineering colleges and skilling organisations. He is regional president of Mumbai region of Association of Managements of Engineering Colleges. He served as group COO and CEO of large educational organisations in Mumbai, Pune and in parts of Maharashtra. He also contributed to the Healthcare industry by turning around teaching hospitals. He is known for his expertise in governance and sustainability of educational institutions.
