Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Goyal graduated in Civil Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra (earlier RECK) in year 1998 and PhD in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee in year 2007. Dr. Goyal is Gold Medalist in M.Tech. (Structures) from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.

His main area of research is High rise construction, construction management, new construction material and wind/Tornado effects on structures. He did research in Germany, Japan and Czech Republic as Post-Doctoral Fellow (PDF) under prestigious DAAD fellowship of Germany, MEXT Fellowship of Japan and Academy of Sciences fellowship of Czech Republic. Presently he is a collaborative researcher at Wind Engineering Research Centre, Tokyo Polytechnic University, Japan. He is also a visiting faculty of Selinus University, Italy.

Dr. Goyal is having long experience in academics, research and administration at National and International Institutes & Universities. He has travelled widely across many countries for various research and academic activities. He is having more than 50 research papers in his credit published in national and international conferences/Journals. Dr. Goyal is editor of NICMAR-Journal of construction management. Also, he is a founding member of Board of Management of NICMAR University, Pune. Presently he is serving as Professor in School of Construction, Dean-NICMAR Doctoral School and Dean of Infrastructure & Planning at NICMAR University, Pune.

Kaushalendra Jangbahadur is working as Director – People & Culture at NICMAR. He has obtained his bachelor’s degree in law from Symbiosis Law College, Pune and master’s degree in human resource management from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. He has a rich industry experience of 19 years in Human Resource & Administration across diverse sectors such as IT, ITES, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare & Education with significant global exposure based at Malaysia. He has been instrumental in driving organizational advancement and change management through effective human capital strategy. His core areas of expertise range across diverse talent management, robust performance management system, policy formulation, analytics & compensation and benefits. He is also pursuing his PhD and is an active researcher focusing on the impact of performance management on organizational performance. As an active proponent of HR as a profit center, Kaushal is currently promulgating the paradigm shift of the role of HR from transactional to transformational in academia.

Mr. Ajit Gulabchand is the Chairman of the Board of Hindustan Construction Company Ltd (HCC). He served as Chairman & Managing Director of HCC for the past four decades till 2023. During this tenure, he transformed the company from a construction major into a diversified infrastructure group of a global scale, developing and building responsible infrastructure through the next practices. With a group turnover of over Rs. 10,670 Cr (US$ 1.415 billion), HCC’s businesses span across engineering & construction and infrastructure.

Mr. Gulabchand hails from a family of nation builders who has made a significant contribution to the development of modern India. A graduate of Mumbai University, Mr. Gulabchand previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Indian Hume Pipe Co. and Managing Director of Ravalgaon Sugar Farm. He became Managing Director of HCC in 1983 and Chairman in 1994.

Corporate social responsibility is intrinsic to Mr. Gulabchand’s vision for the HCC group. Its initiatives encompass Disaster Relief, Water Sustainability, Education, Health and Community Initiatives.

Disaster Relief forms a significant area of focus at HCC. Mr. Gulabchand has been the Chair of the Disaster Resource Partnership Steering Board in 2015 and 2016, started as a partnership between the World Economic Forum’s Infrastructure and Urban Development Community, Humanitarian agencies and Civil Society. He is also the founder and Chairman of Disaster Resource Network India. He has steered emergency response teams and rehabilitation to several locations struck by natural disasters. He is also a member of the Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies (ARISE), United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR).

To address the emerging water crisis and make water sustainability a corporate priority, Mr. Gulabchand endorsed the United Nations CEO Water Mandate. Mr. Gulabchand holds leadership positions in several key industry bodies.

Past Alongside his responsibilities at HCC, Mr. Gulabchand has been a vocal advocate of sustainable development and is regarded as a spokesperson for India’s infrastructure sector in global forums. A regular participant at the World Economic Forum (WEF) for over two decades, Mr. Gulabchand was the first Asian to chair the Governor’s Steering Board of the Engineering & Construction Community at the WEF in Davos, 2011. He is a signatory member of Caring for Climate, United Nation’s action platform for business and a signatory member of WEF’s CEO Climate Leaders. He has also been a frequent invitee to ministerial business delegations from the Government of India to various countries aimed at attracting foreign investments into the Indian infrastructure sector.

Mr. Gulabchand is a strong supporter and patron of several technical institutions in India. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors of the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) and Chairman of the Administrative Council of the Walchand College of Engineering.

Dr. Tapash Kumar Ganguli is the Professor and Director General (in-charge) at NICMAR. Dr. Ganguli is also the Director for Executive Education. Dr. Ganguli’s areas of expertise include Project Management, Materials & Logistics Management, Contract and Project Procurement and Business Planning and Strategy. He has 20 years of industrial experience in national and international projects. He has 23 years of academic experience in teaching, training, research and consultancy. He is a Board Member of Academic Advisory Group of Project Management Institute, India. He is the recipient of PMI South Asia “Distinguish Scholar Award 2021"

Mr. Hrishikesh A. Mehendale is a Director Finance at NICMAR. A Chartered Accountant with 25 years of experience in the finance domain especially in Service sector viz.: Education / Real Estate / Infrastructure / Malls / other. He has been working in Leadership position for a decade plus and is Proficient in Accounts & Finance / Treasury / Compliance / Banking / Internal Controls. Ms. Shalaka Gulabchand Dhawan is Management Advisor to HCC Limited with over 15 years of experience in the construction industry. Being a part of the promoter family of the HCC Group, she has endeavored to understand business deeply and also serves as Director on various Boards of HCC Group Companies.

Ms. Gulabchand Dhawan began her career with HCC in 2000, and has since been associated with various functions of the company, including Group Strategy and major initiatives. Prof. (Dr.) Amit Goel holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Civil Engineering from PEC, Chandigarh (CFTI), and Ph.D. (fulltime) in Civil Engineering (Transportation Systems: NDT&E) IIT Kanpur (CFTI). He has over 20 years of experience teaching at topmost NIRF ranked Universities of 6 states in India, including BITS PILANI and IIT Gandhinagar. He served as a visiting scientist at NTU Singapore (QS rank 11) and at BAM, Berlin, Germany. His research interests are in area of Road Asset Management Systems including the development of robotic condition evaluation systems. He has been involved in many sponsored research and consultancy projects from Government and private sectors. He was the mentor and part of National winning team in BIM-Design competition and represented India at Autodesk University Conference, USA, 2013.

Mr. Shapoor Pallonji Mistry, is the Chairman of the multi-billion dollar Shapoorji Pallonji Group, a-157-year-old diversified business conglomerate with business interests in Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure, Water, Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy. Dr. Mundhra started his construction career at the age of 19 at various construction sites of Simplex. He was inducted in the Board of Simplex in 1969 and became Managing Director in 1987. Under his long leadership of over 50 years, Simplex today is one of the leading infrastructure companies in India having successfully executed more than 3000 projects.

Dr. Mundhra has a professional association with some notable institutions such as Honorary Life Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India); Fellow Member of The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, UK; The Indian Concrete Institute; Member of Board of Governors of Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC) and also member of Builders Association of India (BAI). Dr. Mundhra had also been selected as the First and Founding Chairman of United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

Besides Engineering & Construction, Dr. Mundhra's deep understanding of Indian culture has prompted him to be associated with various social & cultural associations as well as academic institutions, such as President of 'Bharatiya Samskriti Samsad & Nagarik Swasthya Sangh', Kolkata; Principal Trustee in Bharatiya Vidya Mandir; Trustee of Pt. Dr. Gupchup obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Civil Engineering from VJTI, University of Bombay in 1958 and Master of Science and Doctor of Science degrees in Civil Engineering in 1959 and 1963 respectively, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA.

Dr. Gupchup was a Professor at the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (formerly known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute) in Mumbai. He held the post of the Principal of VJTI from January 1983 to June 1992 and again from May 1995 to January 1997, after which he retired following nearly three decades in the field of Technical Education. Dr. Gupchup was also the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Mumbai from June 1992 to May 1995. He served as the Chairman of the National Board of Accreditation, set up by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), from July 2000 till June 2003.

Dr. Gupchup has been active in the field of Technical Education for over 35 years, providing leadership in Maharashtra and contributing to the development of Technical Education at a national level through his association with AICTE and the University Grants Commission (UGC). He has authored numerous technical papers and has presented invited lectures at several universities in the USA, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Northwestern University, Drexel University, Kansas State University, Texas State University, and Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville.

Mr. Abhijit Rajan was appointed as the Managing Director of Gammon India in 1991. He took over as the Chairman of the Company in 1996 and since then has been serving as the Chairman and Managing Director. Mr. K. C. Jhanwar is a Chartered Accountant and has been associated with the Aditya Birla Group since 1981.

In a career spanning over 42 years with the Group, Mr. Jhanwar has worked across finance, operations, and general management roles in both the cement and chemical sectors. He is recognized as a capable team builder and is known for his strong people management skills.

Mr. Jayanta Basu assumed the position of Managing Director of ITD Cementation India Ltd on 23rd April, 2019. A graduate in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science and Technology (formerly Bengal Engineering College), Calcutta University, he has over 36 years of hands-on experience in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, and Contracts Management of Heavy Civil Engineering Projects. He started his career with the company as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1986 and rose through the ranks to take over the mantle of Chief Operating Officer of ITD Cementation in 2017.

Being among the few domain experts in the area of Engineering and Construction of Marine Structures in India, Mr. Basu has been instrumental in the creation and growth of this vertical within the company. His core competencies lie in Project Management, Contracts Management, Advancement of Tendering, Estimation models based on assigned benchmarks, and Business Development. He has a proven track record as an operational strategist, successfully meeting growth objectives and leading multiple improvement initiatives within the company by providing strategic direction, diverse perspectives, and positive leadership.

Mr. Basu has successfully contributed to and led the company’s growth trajectory. He also serves as a National Council member on the Construction Federation of India (CFI) for the year 2021–2023, an apex representative body of the leading infrastructure construction firms in the country. Additionally, he is a member of the NICMAR Board of Governors.

Ms. Preeti Patel serves as the Chairperson and Managing Director of Raspian Enterprises Pvt Ltd. She is also the Deputy Director of Patel Engineering Ltd, Vice Chairperson of the Gujarat Mahila Co-operative Credit Society, and Vice Chairperson of the International Cooperative Alliance: Asia Pacific. Additionally, she is a National Council Member of the Construction Federation of India and the Chairperson of the Women Committee of ASSOCHAM – Western Region.

Mr. M V Satish, shortly called MVS, is a Whole-time Director and Senior Executive Vice President (Buildings) at Larsen & Toubro. He is responsible for the Buildings & Factories (B&F) business vertical within L&T Construction.

Having started his career in L&T as a Junior Engineer, with a degree in Civil Engineering from Bangalore University, Mr. Satish has completed a Senior Executive Program from the London Business School. Over the years, he has held several key portfolios including Regional Project Manager – Bengaluru, Chief Executive – L&T Oman LLC, Head – Commercial Buildings & Airports SBG, and Head – Buildings & Factories IC.

Mr. Satish’s experience spans Construction, Business Development, Contracts Management, and Property Development. He has led numerous landmark projects such as the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (Mumbai), IGI Airport (New Delhi), Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), and Mahatma Mandir (Gujarat). Under his leadership, L&T successfully executed the Statue of Unity – the world’s tallest statue at 182m – in a record 33 months, and constructed the world’s largest cricket stadium in Gujarat and the largest fully seated hockey stadium in Odisha.

Internationally, he established L&T’s strong presence in the GCC region, having served as Chief Executive of L&T Oman LLC. His notable projects include the Bait Al Barakah Royal Palace (Muscat), Duqm Airport and Salalah Greenfield Airport (Oman), NMC Hospital (Abu Dhabi), and the FIFA 2022 Ahmed bin Ali Stadium (Qatar).

Mr. Satish is a pioneer in EPC turnkey ‘Design and Build’ construction and is known for driving innovation through digitalization and 3D printing technologies. He has championed the creation of the B&F Fast Business, which revolutionized rapid construction by delivering complex structures in record time.

A firm advocate for safety and sustainable construction practices, Mr. Satish continues to lead L&T’s digital transformation and represents the organization across multiple industry bodies, construction institutions, and councils.

Dr. Bithal Das Mundhra started his construction career at the age of 19 at various construction sites of Simplex. Mr. Santosh Rai is the Operations Director and Chief Business Officer (CBO) at HCC Ltd. He has over 21 years of experience in the construction sector, with a strong focus on business development, construction management, planning, and execution of infrastructure projects.

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree from Bapuji Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kuvempu University, Karnataka, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Construction Management from the National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR), Pune.

Dr. Nakul Gupta is currently working as Associate Professor in NICMAR NCR. He graduated in Civil Engineering in 2009 and received his Master’s degree in Construction Technology and Management in 2011 and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering in 2016. His main areas of research include Sustainable Concrete and Tornado effects on structures. He is also a collaborative researcher at the Wind Engineering Research Centre, Tokyo Polytechnic University, Japan.

Dr. Gupta has over 13 years of academic experience and has published more than 100 research papers in national and international conferences and journals. He has 5 patents granted and has guided 5 Ph.D. scholars to date. Additionally, he has undertaken several consultancy projects in the field of Non-Destructive Testing of residential and commercial buildings.
