Semester breakdown

Semester 1

The first semester provides basic knowledge of areas pertaining to construction management, covering both technical and managerial aspects. This semester also introduces research methods in the program’s curriculum.

Semester 2

The second semester provides exposure to the financial, safety and quality aspects of construction. This semester also introduces project communications which are vital to the construction project success.

Semester 3

The third semester provides a platform for exploring the various paths in construction through electives. This semester also commences research work through dissertation by which a research question will be identified through systematic literature review.

Semester 4

This semester is dedicated to project work by means of continuing the research problem defined in the previous semester, to arrive at conclusions.

Dr. Ravindranadh Chowdary Kamma
Program Director, M.Tech CTM

Dr. Ravindranadh Chowdary completed his B.Tech in Civil Engineering from JNTU Hyderabad, M. Tech in Construction Technology and Management in IIT Madras, Ph.D in Civil Engineering from IIT Delhi. He is also certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) from PMI.

He is currently working in NICMAR University of Construction Studies Hyderabad as Assistant Professor since 2015 and prior to this he worked in M/s. L&T for 6 years. His research interests are Construction & Demolition (C&D) waste management, Lean Construction and Construction Project Management with specific interests in Project Planning, Tendering and Contracts, Productivity studies and Cost Estimation.

Dr. Ravindranadh published more than 15 research papers in reputed international journals such as ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management (JCEM), Engineering Construction and Architectural Management (ECAM), International Journal of Construction Management (IJCM), and so on.

Admission and degree requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or B. Architecture or Equivalent degree in relevant field.
  • The candidate must have secured at least 50% marks (45% for the candidates from reserved category) or its equivalent CGPA are eligible to apply.
  • Final year eligible graduating students can also apply. However, such candidates must have completed (passed) their Graduation before the commencement of programme.
