7. Process Improvement Techniques

Learning Integrated TOC, Six Sigma, and Lean promotes workforce engagement by applying Deming's principles of creating cultural change by insisting on 'driving out fear'. Understanding Lean Six Sigma Origins The Theory of Constraints, Leadership for Process Improvement, Process Improvement Teams Problem Solving using DMAIC.

8. Product Development and Management

Practicing modern tools, techniques, and methods for product design and development. Its capstone is a project in which teams conceive, design and develop a product. The course will immerse the students in the new product development process with the objective of learning key tools, techniques, and methods.

9. Environmental Systems Analysis, Economics & Public Policy

Introduction to Environmental Systems Analysis, Environmental Systems and Some Standard Examples, Ecological Systems, Water Resource Systems, and Urban Systems.

10. Manufacturing Management

Subject Introduction, Product Life Cycle Management, Demand Forecasting, Inventory Control And Jit Systems, Facility Design And Production Planning & Control, Supply Chain Management, and Lean And Sustainable Manufacturing.

11. Systems Engineering and Architecture

Learning a systematic and rigorous approach to developing, modeling, analyzing, and optimizing architectures for complex technology and information-intensive systems, and systems-of-systems. Understanding the methodology of Model-Based System Architecture Process (MBSAP). Illustrating the techniques of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using an architecture model as the primary source material for Systems Engineering (SE) processes such as requirements analysis, high-level and detailed design, performance and design trade studies, configuration management, specialty engineering, and other concepts.

12. Strategic Management

Strategic management deals with ways organizations build and sustain superior competitive positions and achieve long-term profitability. It develops an integrated view of the firm that encompasses functional areas such as operations, marketing, accounting, and finance. This course will equip students with new concepts and framework required to be a successful corporate manager.

13. International Management

Understanding the significant concepts of international business. Developing the knowledge, skills, and abilities to understand the global economic, political, cultural, and social environment within which firms operate. Examining the strategies and structures of international business and assessing the key roles of the functions of an international business. Learning to formulate and execute strategies, plans, and tactics to succeed in international business ventures.

14. Computer Simulation for Risk & Operational Analytics

Understanding computer simulation of businesses, services, and manufacturing systems that are subject to uncertainty or risk. Learning the spreadsheet simulation using @Risk and system simulation using Arena. With this course, students will be able to develop complex simulation models, design the simulation experiment to be run on the model, analyze and interpret the results, and manage simulation projects.

Prof. Shyam Kumar Inturi, Program Director, MBA EM

An educator and proficient researcher, Prof. Shyam Kumar Inturi is pursuing a doctorate in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay. Passionate about imparting quality education, he holds a master's degree in Gas Engineering from UPES Dehradun, and has over 10 years of academic experience.

Before associating with NICMAR, he was with UPES Dehradun. Prof. Shyam's curiosity for the subject has led him to publish numerous research papers in various renowned journals, for which he received many awards at different academic conferences. He has successfully undertaken multiple consultancy projects related to Oil and Gas.

  • The program is for candidates who have graduated in science/engineering/management/commerce stream with a minimum of 60% in examinations (55% for the candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD category).
