Imagine being in a classroom full of bright and inquisitive students, all eager to learn and explore new ideas. At the helm of this dynamic environment is not just any ordinary teacher, but a true leader - someone who can inspire and guide their students to reach their full potential. The importance of leadership in education professionals cannot be overstated.

A strong leader in education is not just someone who can manage a classroom, but someone who can empower and motivate their students to be lifelong learners. This requires constantly revamping and updating pedagogy to keep up with the ever-changing landscape of education. It means staying up-to-date with the latest technology and teaching methods and being able to adapt to different learning styles and abilities.

Education professionals who possess strong leadership qualities can inspire the next generation of leaders and contribute to the growth and development of society. By fostering a love of learning and a desire to make a difference, these individuals can help shape the world we live in.

It is with this intention that NICMAR Business School recently organized an “Academic Leadership Workshop” for college principals, heads of departments, and senior faculty members at NICMAR University, Pune.

However, the attendees weren’t limited to NICMAR. The event also saw esteemed educators from other colleges in Pune and Mumbai in attendance.

Here's a brief rundown of what was discussed:

First up, Dr. Nitin Karmalkar, Ex-Vice Chancellor, Savitribai Phule University, Pune shed light on the new National Education Policy (NEP) guidelines and how universities can comply to make education more inclusive and industry-driven. This session was an eye-opener and gave insights into the changes that can be implemented to provide a more holistic learning experience.

Next, we had the Denver University faculty join us to talk about innovative pedagogy using industry collaboration and projects as part of course credits. The session was packed with practical tips and ideas on how to make education more engaging and applicable in real-world scenarios.

Dr. Vikas Kumar, Associate Dean of Research, Birmingham University, England, took the stage next and gave a valuable presentation on how to publish in high impact journals while juggling teaching, admin, and research responsibilities. This session was a lifesaver for those struggling with time management, and it gave attendees the tools they need to excel in all areas of their career.

Last but not least, Dr. Prashanta Das highlighted why industry collaboration is essential in education. Through his insights, attendees learned how collaborating with industry experts can lead to real-world problem-solving, research opportunities, internships, and job placements for students.

The workshop was inaugurated by none other than the distinguished Prof. Dr. Anil Kashyap, President and Chancellor, NICMAR University.

During the event, the participants were treated to a wealth of knowledge and insights on a range of topics. They received valuable updates on the latest developments in the education industry, which included cutting-edge research, innovative teaching methodologies, and more.
