First Year

Gather fundamental knowledge of functional areas like Environmental Management System, Sustainability, Environmental Conservation , Climate Change, Life Cycle Assessment Environmental Social Governance (ESG) practices, Circular Economy, Environmental policies and Legislations, and many more.

Also dive deep into the fields of Data Management, Design Thinking, Business and finance management, Entrepreneurship, effective communication skills, and professional ethics with expert lecturers. The first year also entails a live case study, field visit, and hands-on training with data optimisation tools.

Second Year

The second year of the programme enables you to dive further into the core areas of Environmental Sustainability, Sustainability reporting, Environmental impact assessment, and Risk assessment. Also part of this year are a pool of industry-oriented electives from three major domains: Sustainability, Environment and Management.

Furthermore, this year brings with it practical, field-based experience through industry visits and summer internship. You will also take up project work based on live case studies in order to develop problem solving skills. The second year allows you to get hands-on training on Risk Assessment, Life Cycle Assessment and Remote Sensing and GIS tools.

    Understand the fundamental processes of waste management strategies.

  • Environmental Impact Assessment and Policies

    This module develops student understanding of the concepts, methods and procedures of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The tutorials will help to analyse and evaluate their usage in managerial decision making and control. Furthermore, the module introduces decision-making processes related to EIA in achieving an effective environmental management plan for sustainability.

  • Environmental Life Cycle Assessment and Circular Economy

    Learn and understand the life cycle process of materials to achieve circularity through reuse, recycle, repair or refurbishing strategies.

  • Environmental Social Governance (ESG)

    The course provides Environmental, Social and Governance practices by focusing on climate change mitigation action and implementation measures across sectors.

  • Marketing Management and Business Development

    Gain in-depth understanding of the marketing process, and learn to appreciate the global and domestic marketing environment. The course also helps you develop a conceptual understanding of the marketing process in the Indian environment.

    This course will cover organizational behaviour theory and research in the context of current realities.

    Understand the nature of the problem to be studied and identify the related area of knowledge in this course. Semester 3

Our leader

Dr. J. S. Sudarsan
Head, MBA ENS

An Assistant Professor at the School of Energy and Environment, NICMAR, Pune, Dr. Sudarsan is a Chartered Civil Engineer with many laurels to his name. Along with holding a doctorate in Environmental Engineering, a postgraduate degree in Environmental Engineering, and a postgraduate diploma in Industrial Safety, he has spent over 20 years in teaching research and consultancy. Some of the research projects he has handled were sponsored by BARC, QCI, and DST Government of India.

An active partaker in several national and international conferences over the years, Dr. Sudarsan has also published two patents and contributed over 84 papers in SCOPUS indexed journals. He has also co-authored two books related to construction materials and repair and rehabilitation of structures.

Dr. Sudarsan is a proud recipient of multiple awards such as Emerging Sustainability Professional Award 2022, Research Mentor cash award from American Chemical Society (ACS) USA, Research Excellence award by InSc (Institute of Scholars), Eminent Researcher award by I2OR Organization, India, and Research Incentive cash award from SRM institute of Science and Technology. A frequent guest lecturer on varied topics such as Disaster Risk Reduction, Constructed Wetland as Novel technique for Wastewater management, Environmental Impact assessment, Dr. Sudarsan’s array of credentials also include organizing several training programmes, workshops, and conferences in the areas of disaster management and environment protection and awareness at both national and international levels.

Admission Requirements

  • Students with a regular bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Science/Architecture from a recognised Institution/University are eligible.
  • A minimum of 50% aggregate marks at graduation level is required. Final year graduating students can also apply. However, they must have completed their graduation before the commencement of this programme.
