Prof. Kiran Nalawade

Prof. Kiran Nalawade is a Professor of Practice at the School of Real Estate and Facilities Management, NICMAR University, Pune, and serves as the Programme Coordinator for the Post Graduate Diploma in Asset and Facilities Management (PGD AFM). He is a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified by PMI and brings over 17 years of industry experience in construction project management. He holds a B.E. in Civil Engineering and a postgraduate qualification in Construction Project Management. In his administrative role, he coordinates programme implementation, industry-linked internships, and academic mentoring, ensuring alignment with current industry practices and standards.

Admission Requirements

Eligibility

  Candidates with a regular graduation from a recognised Institution / University are eligible. Candidates seeking admission are required to have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for candidates from the reserved category) at the graduation level. Final-year-eligible graduating students can also apply. However, such candidates must have completed (passed) their Graduation before the commencement of the programme.

Admission Procedure

  The selection of students is made by the selection committee. Those interested in admission to the programmes offered by the NICMAR University, Pune, may apply online, pay fees, and upload documents through our website. All specified documents must be submitted. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

 1. NICMAR Common Admission Test (NCAT)

    Applicants are required to appear for the NICMAR Common Admission Test (NCAT). NCAT evaluates candidates on:

  • Quantitative aptitude
  • Logical reasoning
  • Verbal ability and comprehension
  • Basic awareness relevant to Asset & Facility Management domains

  Performance in NCAT forms a key component of the shortlisting process.

 2. Academic Performance

    Candidates are assessed based on their undergraduate academic record, with due consideration given to consistency, subject relevance, and overall performance in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.

 3. Personal Interview (PI)

    Shortlisted candidates are invited for a Personal Interview (PI), which assesses:

  • Motivation and clarity of career goals
  • Orientation towards AFM operations
  • Communication skills and problem-solving ability
  • Suitability for the programme structure and outcomes

  Interviews may be conducted in person or online, as applicable.

 4. Rating of Application (RA)

    A holistic Rating of Application (RA) is carried out by the admissions committee, considering NCAT score, academic background, interview performance, and overall profile. Relevant industry exposure, if any, may be considered as an added advantage.

 5. Final Selection

    Final admission offers are made based on the overall merit ranking derived from the combined evaluation of NCAT, academic performance, personal interview, and application rating. Meeting eligibility criteria alone does not guarantee admission.
