MoU between NICMAR University and GND Solutions India Pvt Ltd

An online memorandum of understanding (MoU) between M/s GND Solutions India Pvt Ltd. and NICMAR University Pune, was signed. The Internet of Things (IoT) and IoT Development with Construction, Project and General Management Industry requirements will be jointly developed by NICMAR University, Pune and GND Solutions India Pvt Ltd.

Launch of Internal Quality Assurance Cell

NICMAR University Pune, launched the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on 2^nd November, 2022. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kashyap, the President and Chancellor of the University. He stressed on the creation of awareness about the quality concept in various aspects both academic and administration in the University system. Prof. Kashyap also apprised that the University will follow the required guidelines of UGC and NAAC as well as will implement the best practices globally for attaining and maintaining the quality.Mr. Samir Datta, Alumni of NICMAR, IQAC Committee member and Director of Nikaya Group, Pune joined as Guest on the occasion. Dr. Pradeepta Kumar Samanta, Director of IQAC presented an overview of the process of internalising the quality culture at university level.

ICCRIP 2023

After the resounding success of the earlier six editions, NICMAR is proud to announce “ICCRIP-2023” – the 7th International Conference on Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Project (CRIP) Management on 11th and 12th August, 2023 – with an aim to serve as a forum for eminent professionals, practitioners, academicians, research scholars and students to share their innovative research and practices.

The conference will provide the participants with access to various conference activities such as inspiring plenary sessions, paper presentations and networking. Additionally, two special features of this edition of ICCRIP include a ‘doctoral colloquium’ for PhD scholars and an ‘industry practitioners’ enclave’ for construction industry professionals.

Management Development Programme @Hyderabad

NICMAR Hyderabad announces three days Management Development Programme on "Project Estimation and Cost Control” in Hybrid Mode. The programme commences on 20^th January 2023.

CONVOCATION CERMONY

The Batch of 2020-2022 passed through the hallowed portals for the last time to continue their onward journey into the world of aspirations, opportunities and future prospects. With pride NICMAR celebrated their achievements through the gala convocation ceremony held on 11th November 2022.

The main convocation ceremony was presided by Mr. Ajit Gulabchand, Chairman, Board of Governors (BOG) & Board of Trustees (BOT), NICMAR and Chairman & Managing Director, Hindustan Construction Co. Ltd. with Prof Anil Kashyap, Director General, NICMAR, Pune. The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Dr. Brijesh Dixit, Managing Director - Maharashtra Metro Rail Corp Ltd.

Over 100 medals and scholarships were awarded during this august ceremony. Bank of Baroda announced an award of Rs. 31000 in the category of "Best in Academics". Ms. Anuja J S, of ACM Pune (Batch 20-22) was proud recipient of this award.

Tree Plantation

Panel Discussion

Prof Anil Kashyap- President and Chancellor, NICMAR University was invited as a panellist for the panel discussion titled "Symbiotic Relationship between Transportation and Real Estate" organized by the Centre for Transportation and Logistics and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad on November 22, 2022. The other panellists were Prof. Edward Coulson- Director, Center for Real Estate, University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business, Mr. Anshul Singhal, Managing Director, Welspun One Logistics Parks.

Ideathon the B-Plan event - Launch ceremony was held on 9^th November at NICMAR University, Pune. The Guest speaker was Mr. Vijay Gupta ,CEO, Softech. The Alumni speakers were Mr. Manan Gupta, Mr. Armaan Zaafar and Mr. Karthik Sivakumar. The Student speaker was Ms. Alvina Das.

Webinars

School of Energy and Environment, NICMAR University, Pune, organised a Webinar on “Net Zero Circular Water Future for Indian Cities” on November 23, 2022. The guest speaker Mr. Dilip G. Sonwane, Associate Vice President-Marketing, Tata Consulting Engineers Limited, Mumbai, gave an insightful talk.

School of Energy and Environment, NICMAR University, Pune conducted a webinar on “Integrated Sustainability Law - Need of the Hour” on November 16^th 2022. Mr. Sunil Sood, Sustainability Consultant was the Expert Speaker for the webinar.

Faculty and Staff Achievements/Awards

Dr. P. K. Samanta was invited as a subject expert for the online Technical Session of 42^nd Annual Conference of Orissa Commerce Association and National Seminar on the topic "Business Transformation in Digital India" on November 23, 2022.

Dr. P. K. Samanta was invited as a resource person for the Doctoral Program in Management of 2022 batch of ICFAI University, Jharkhand on the topic “International Financial Management” on November 5, 2022.

Dr. Rajesh Goyal was invited to interact with the alumni of DAAD, Germany during alumni meet on 24^th November 2022 at Zapurza Museum of Art & Culture and Goethe Institute Max Mueller Bhavan Pune.

Management Development Programme @Hyderabad

A three-day workshop – ‘Project Management with BIM & MSP’ was organised by the School of Executive Education for 40 students from Sreenidhi Institute of Science & Technology (SNIST) Hyderabad from 17^th to 19^th of November 2022. The workshop concluded with a valedictory address by Mr Talla Balakrishna, Director-Project Development Services, M/s Jones Lang LaSalle (renowned global commercial real estate service company) on the "Role of Technology in Construction Sector - NET ZERO CARBON Sustainability" on the sidelines of COP-27.

Expert Talk

An Expert talk by Shri Pavan Krupa Kumar, founder of PossiBuild Building Technologies on the topic "Precast concrete construction - A futuristic building technology and scope for innovation" was organised by School of Construction and Technology, NICMAR University, Hyderabad on 2^nd November 2022. Mr. Pavan Kumar provided insights into the precast industry and the role of construction management students in planning, design and execution of precast projects.

On 16^th November 2022, an expert session titled ‘Using Bloom's Taxonomy for Assessing Student Performance at the Post-Graduate Level' was organised by the Centre for Continuing Professional Development, NICMAR Hyderabad for the faculty members. During this session, Prof. M. Bhaskar Rao, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad explained about the relevance of Bloom’s Taxonomy for higher education and how to integrate such expectations within the learning experience.

Leadership Talks

As a part of its Leadership Talks initiative, the School of Business Management, NICMAR Hyderabad organised an open-house webinar on 25^th November, 2022. The Guest speaker Mr. Mallik Chennam, CEO Supreme Mineral Corporations, Canada and CEO Supreme Mining Corporation Africa addressed the gathering on “Transformation of Management Education to meet the dynamic needs of today’s Businesses”.

Executive Education Programs

BIM FOR COLLABORATIVE CONSTRUCTION

NICMAR University through its School of Executive Education conceptualized and developed an Open Enrolment Management Development Programme on ‘BIM for Collaborative Construction’ to make construction professionals eligible for emerging new work opportunities. The program has been very well received by the AECO industry and its second batch has recently commenced successfully with a significant number of participants from different parts of India and a few from abroad.

Conducted Executive Post Graduate Programme in Essentials of Infrastructure & Construction Management (E-PGP-EICM) held from 14th to 19th November 2022, (Module -6) for Larsen & Toubro.

MFOCB Alumni Meet 2022

An exclusive Alumni meet of Management of Family Owned Construction Business (MFOCB) program was held on Friday, 11^th November 2022. It was well attended by MFOCB alumni from batches 1 to 7. The meeting included presentation of new programme outlines of MBA / PGD – Entrepreneurship and Innovation and MBA / PGD – Family Business Management by the Programme Director, Dr. Soumi Rai. Engaging discussions on feedback about the MFOCB Programme and sharing of personal experiences added spark to event.

Alumni Meet @Hyderabad

An alumni meet was organised by the Alumni Committee of NICMAR Hyderabad on 27^th November 2022. More than 50 alumni of NICMAR Hyderabad attended the event coordinated by the members of the Student Council and Alumni Committee. The meet was inaugurated by Dr. Anil Kashyap, President and Chancellor, NICMAR University, Pune who addressed the gathering virtually.

Oath Taking Ceremony Student Council 2022-23 @Pune

The Oath taking ceremony of the newly nominated student council (SC) was held on 16^th November 2022. The new council members were felicitated with sashes by the Student Council 2021-2022. On this occasion President & Chancellor (Dr.) Prof Anil Kashyap outlined how the contribution of the SC has spurred the University to unlimited heights in the field of academics, sports, cultural activities and overall welfare of the student community in particular, and development of the University in general. Dean, Student Welfare-cum-Chief Warden, Dr. Amit Hiray proposed a vote of thanks. The event was attended by all the faculty and staff members, and students.

SANSKRITI x ĀRAMBH

This was the first event organised by the new Student Council 2022-23 on 13th,14th, and 15th of November 2022. The event comprised the celebration of a cultural night along with fun filled informal events.

This fest invited the students to participate and engage in exciting competitions such as Naaptol.com, Paint it up, Handball, Escape Room and much more fun filled, team building competitions. The event ended on a high note with "Team Badshah" emerging as the overall Champions!!!

Webinar/Seminar @Hyderabad

Club Mark-IT in association with Club Equitas of NICMAR University, Hyderabad hosted the second webinar for the academic year 2022-2023 titled ‘Business Development – A Tool for Thriving Business’. The webinar was delivered by an alumnus of Goa Engineering College, a veteran from ICT sector with over 25 + years of experience in Business Development, New Business acquisitions, Sales, Alliances and Partnerships. In his address to the students, he dwelled on the importance of business development and how it is different from core marketing or core sales.

The student club Cyborg in collaboration with School of Construction and Technology organised a seminar on ‘Visual Intelligence with Drones in Construction Management’. The speaker was Mr. Vinod Kumar S, founder & CEO, Senseacre. He presented the taxonomy of drones, use cases of drone applications in the industries and construction, especially for irrigation projects in Polavaram, Andhra Pradesh and Kaleshwaram, Telangana. The session concluded with a hands-on demonstration.

Vigilance Drive

In response to the UGC Circular no D.O No. F .30-57 t201 2(CVO) dated 15^th September 2022, on 11^th November 2022 members of Student Council- NICMAR Hyderabad organised anti-corruption drive and administered 'anti-corruption oath' to NICMAR Students. The activity was conducted to spread awareness about Vigilance Drive of Central Vigilance Committee (CVC).

ALOHA – 2022

At NICMAR Hyderabad, ALOHA marks the advent of perfect amalgamation of the junior and senior batch students through a series of activities encompassing different domains like Technical, Cultural, fun games etc. ALOHA – 2022 was celebrated from 16^th – 18^th November, 2022 with a wide range of activities showcasing the skills of the students.
