The Centre of Excellence in Project Management (CoEPM) at the School of Project Management, NICMAR University, Pune, aims to strengthen practice-oriented learning and foster deeper industry engagement beyond the traditional academic curriculum at the university level by enabling participation of faculty from all schools, and promoting participation of faculties from all schools of NICMAR University, Pune.

ABOUT

The School of Project Management (SoPM) currently offers a 2-year full-time MBA in Advanced Project Management. Given the dynamic advancements in infrastructure, information technology, smart cities, and global consulting, there is a pressing need to strengthen practice-oriented learning and foster deeper industry engagement beyond the traditional academic curriculum. Establishing the Centre of Excellence in Project Management (CoEPM) intends to address this need at the university level by enabling participation of faculty from all schools, and promoting participation of faculties from all schools of NICMAR University, Pune.

The Centre of Excellence in Project Management at NICMAR University, Pune, aims to enhance education quality through innovative pedagogy and outcome-based learning, ensuring a rich learning experience for students in line with NEP 2020.

    To create knowledge base of 100+ research outputs (cases, papers, standards & templates).

  • bullet To share knowledge by organizing for annual conclaves, digital repository, and global forums with practitioners, researchers, and government bodies.
  • bullet To deliver high‑quality MOOCs and blended learning programmes in project management that cumulatively train at least 500 learners, strengthening individual and organisational capabilities in India and beyond.
  • bullet To make global reach with strategic international partnerships with universities, professional bodies, or multilateral agencies for joint research in project management.
  • bullet To emerge as a recognised advisory body for major Indian and international infrastructure projects by contributing evidence based guidance, standards, and tools that shape project governance, delivery frameworks, and capacity building agendas.

1. Establish CoEPM governance structure & advisory board comprising faculty, alumni, and industry.
2. Identify research areas in Project Management.
3. Develop CoEPM brochure to highlight faculty strengths and expertise.
4. Conduct SWOT analysis and faculty mapping.
5. Publish an annual CoEPM White Paper on emerging PM practices (e.g., digitalization, sustainable project management, resilience).
