Director General's Message

'Education is a catalyst for Change'

NICMAR University today represents an amalgamated intellectual population where those from diverse backgrounds feel included and supported in their journey of learning and growth. The university has always espoused the value of creating an equitable platform for every student, allowing them an opportunity to harness their true potential for accelerated career progression.

The campus houses future leaders and entrepreneurs who are the harbingers of positive change for both the nation and the world. Thus it is imperative that these impressionable minds develop sensitivity towards their fellow beings, society, environment and inculcate human values toward the creation of an equitable and fair globalized community. In alignment with this objective and towards the creation of a community that respects human values across varied backgrounds, the university has been organizing a multitude of workshops and talks with eminent personalities in the area of ‘gender sensitivity’.

The idea is to encourage the community to examine their own attitude, beliefs and value systems and expand their outlook beyond the horizon of limited gender-based knowledge; to distinguish between the terms ‘sex’ and ‘gender’, which are words with absolutely different connotations; to create an appreciation and understanding of the different gender roles; to reduce gender-related biases and discriminations and finally to develop sensitivity and empathy towards each other for harmonious co-existence and development.

NU feels pride that we have been steadily moving towards our objective of creating a harmonious, cohesive campus where human values and empathy are espoused and celebrated through our policies and initiatives. We intend to continue our educational efforts towards creating a diverse and inclusive community that appreciates the uniqueness of each individual and uses their inherent potential for accelerated learning, growth, and development.

Warm regards,
Professor Anil Kashyap,
Director General, NICMAR

Latest Updates

Launch of Technikala 2023

Technikala 2023, the flagship event of NICMAR university has been revived after a 2-year hiatus and is now back with a bang. Technikala 2023 is a revelry of three days from 10th March to 12th March, highlighting the importance of understanding the diversity of perspectives and recognizing that there may be more than one “correct” way of perceiving the world.

This year’s theme “A prism of perceptions” refers to the idea that people’s perceptions can vary greatly and each of them carries a value of their own, either individually or combined. Similar to how a prism separates light into different components and creates a spectrum of colours, people’s perceptions create a diverse range of interpretations of the same event or object. It is a fiesta celebrating each individual, their inner spirit, and the way they uniquely perceive the world. These varying yet valuable perceptions would be honoured through exciting events organized under numerous domains such as technical, business, cultural, photography, sports, literary, informal and design.
